Kurt Zouma apologizes for video of him abusing his cat: "Are no apologies"
Kurt Zouma has landed in the eye of the storm in England. A leaked video shows the West Ham defender abusing his own cat. "I want to say sorry to the people who were impressed by the images," responds the Frenchman.
In the video, Kurt Zouma chases his cat, then kicks the pet, throws a shoe and sells a blow to the muzzle.
The West Ham defender is said to have reacted furiously because the cat had knocked over a vase and pulled out a lamp. The video was shared on social media, prompting Zouma to write a formal response.
"I want to apologize for my actions, for which there are no excuses," the 27-year-old Frenchman opened. "I also want to say sorry to the people who were impressed by the images."
"I assure everyone that my two cats are well and in good health," he said in a press release.
West Ham United condemned the incident. "We will address the matter internally, but emphasize that we do not condone violence against animals under any circumstances."
